Commemorating two years of CoCo Club
It's time to review another fun quarter of play at the CoCo virtual club on Woogles. Thirty-six players joined us throughout the summer quarter of 2022. Congratulations to the club champions:
#1 - Anand Bharadwaj, 34-5
#2 - Austin Shin, 41-14
#3 - Andrian Setiawan, 14-4
And to the CoCo Cup winners, who played the most total games during the summer session:
#1 - Junalexa, 62 games
#2 - Austin Shin, 55 games
#3 - Bharath Balakrishnan, Mohammad Sulaiman, Devon Dublin, 45 games
Defending spring 2022 quarterly champion Sammy Okosagah did not participate as regularly in CoCo club this season, and it was soon apparent that the title would be contested between two other world-class players - Austin Shin and Anand Bharadwaj, respectively the second and third place finishers in the previous quarter. In the end, the title was decided in the final game between the two, and Anand prevailed, finishing an incredible 34-5 season - a +29 W/L differential. Austin was second at 41-14, +27 W/L, followed by Andrian Setiawan at 14-4, +10 W/L.
Anand’s performance was arguably the strongest we’ve seen yet; his win percentage of 87% is the highest in CoCo Club history, and he averaged 467 points per game (including his few losses). His opponents’ average score was 389 points, for a spread of +78 per game. He and Austin were also the only players to score over 600 points in a game.
During the quarter, 340 games were played in total, for an average of just over 26 each week. As a group, the 36 players averaged 412 points per game. Congratulations to Junalexa for being the most frequent participant, with 62 games played. Austin continued his regular participation and was second with 55 games, followed by the trio of regulars Bharath Balakrishnan, Mohammad Sulaiman, and Devon Dublin at 45 games each.
